It was a pleasure to take part in this year’s Open House Festival on Saturday 19 September with over 70 people in attendance for a talk and tour about the history of the building.
Built by The Little Sisters of the Assumption in 1931 as a Novitiate House, it provided accommodation for the nuns in training along with a chapel in what is now our Main Hall. Following their departure in 1967 the building was acquired by the council for use as a community centre, originally Kidbrooke House, before being renamed Mycenae House in 1994.
